Two new advocacy opportunities await at the 74th NATA Clinical Symposia & AT Expo – NATAPACk Your Bags and Rounding Third, both taking place June 22-24 in the Connect area in Hall I of the Indianapolis Convention Center.
Hosted by the NATAPAC Board of Directors and NATA Government Affairs respectively, NATAPACk Your Bags and Rounding Third are new fundraising initiatives.

With an uncle who practiced sports medicine, Meredith Decker, PhD, LAT, ATC, said she fell in love with athletic training at a very young age.
Early professional athletic training employment has been ailed with issues such as decreased compensation, expanded work expectations, challenges with work-life balance and other factors affecting employee recruitment and retention, said NATA Early Professionals’ Committee Chair Emily Mulkey, MS, LAT, ATC.

In honor of National Volunteer Month in April, NATA would like to thank all of its volunteers for their hard work, dedication and impact. Without them, we couldn’t do what we do.
In 2022, more than 1,340 members volunteered with NATA. From serving on a committee to reviewing potential convention programming submission, every volunteer’s efforts contributed to the success of NATA and assisted in meeting the needs of the membership.
Throughout the history of athletic training, the college/university, higher education, professional sports, secondary school and various emerging settings have become home to athletic trainers wanting to care for all active populations. The impact of these ATs has helped their patients remain active and healthy in work, life and sport.

In honor of Women’s History Month this March, NATA is highlighting women in the profession who are working to advance athletic training through recruitment, retention and leadership.
With a heart for education, NATA Education Advancement Committee member Tricia Kasamatsu, PhD, ATC, said she has always been eager to guide students to success. Athletic training has been that conduit for this passion.
