NATA Updates Bylaws

The NATA Board of Directors approved a series of bylaw updates during its Aug. 25 meeting. 

These updates are substantive changes, which were submitted to each of the districts’ annual business meetings after an initial board approval. Each bylaw then had to be approved by at least two-thirds of the NATA’s districts before being resubmitted to the board for final approval. After receiving final board approval, the new bylaws went into effect immediately.

New Forums Experience Comes to VNATA

The NATA Clinical Symposia & AT Expo is the premier event for athletic trainers. More than 10,000 attendees took advantage of the 2020 NATA Virtual Clinical Symposia & AT Expo and we are excited to build on that success and create another engaging, educational opportunity for the athletic training community with VNATA 2021, which offers the robust content and engagement experiences attendees have come to expect from NATA.

LGBTQIA+ Specific Cultural Competency Resources

In honor of Pride Month, throughout June the NATA Now blog will highlight NATA’s LGBTQIA+ resources to assist members in their pursuit of providing compassionate, culturally competent patient care to all.

To provide the highest quality of care to all patients, athletic trainers must also self-reflect and educate themselves on the LGBTQIA+ community. Patient identity and sexual orientation can influence not only their health and well-being, but the patient-AT relationship as well.

Plan Your VNATA 2021 Educational Experience

The 2021 NATA Virtual Clinical Symposia & AT Expo is just around the corner! Live educational programming starts June 22, and knowing what’s on the agenda and how to earn CEUs is a critical part of making the most the VNATA 2021 experience.

The VNATA 2021 educational program – live June 22-24 and on-demand through Sept. 30 –  consists of more than 70 sessions and more than 12 hours of live programming. Throughout VNATA 2021, attendees can earn up to 25 CEUs, including 7.5 EBP CEUs.

Earn CEUs on LGBTQIA+ Content

In order to provide the best quality of care for patients, athletic trainers must be culturally competent. This means it is an AT’s duty to educate themselves on the diverse patient population they will come in contact with.
