NATA 2022: Keynote Highlights Legacy Leaders

The first day of the 73rd NATA Clinical Symposia & AT Expo set an inspiring tone for attendees to take with them through the rest of the convention. Attendees were “Reunited AT Last” at the Keynote presentation, Lessons from Leadership, featuring NATA Past Presidents Julie Max, MEd, ATC, Marje Albohm, MS, AT Ret., and current President Kathy Dieringer, EdD, LAT, ATC.

Opportunities To Develop as a Leader

As health care providers, athletic trainers are looked to as leaders by their patients, coworkers and communities. But, leadership is not always a natural skill and can take time to develop. NATA ensures members have the opportunities to grow as leaders and develop those skills through educational courses and programming in the NATA Leadership Academy.

NATA Helps Amp Up State Advocacy

Representation of athletic trainers as health care providers in legislation takes a lot of work, and it can’t be done alone. At the state level, updates to practice acts or regulatory laws limiting who ATs can treat can have a big impact on athletic training representation at the federal level, as well.
