The NATA Early Professionals’ Committee has launched a resource aimed at helping new athletic trainers find the right fit for their first  – and future – job.

The 75th NATA Clinical Symposia & AT Expo, June 25-28 in New Orleans, is approaching – and registration is now open. As we get ready for convention, NATA Now is looking back at convention history as well as what to know about NATA 2024.

Early professional athletic training employment has been ailed with issues such as decreased compensation, expanded work expectations, challenges with work-life balance and other factors affecting employee recruitment and retention, said NATA Early Professionals’ Committee Chair Emily Mulkey, MS, LAT, ATC.

Early professional ATs and new graduates are invited to attend the NATA Connection and Engagement Committee Early Professionals Meet and Greet at 6 p.m. CDT May 17. During this free event, recent graduates and early professionals can learn about the committee and NATA’s various member resources.

NATA Timely Topics kicks off anew this year with “The State of Athletic Training: College/University Employment” at 1 p.m. CST March 2.

As part of Phase Six of NATA’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Access (DEIA) Response Plan, each NATA committee, commission and council was tasked with developing three to five actionable items that support one or more of the six NATA DEIA Commitments.
