Submit Manuscripts for ATEJ Pedagogy Issue

The Athletic Training Education Journal invites manuscripts for a special thematic issue focusing on Educating Future Athletic Training Professionals. 

The mission of this issue is to examine educational techniques (didactic and clinical education) that athletic training educators can use to ensure that future athletic trainers at all levels (professional, postprofessional, and residency) are trained using the unique and effective pedagogy practices that consider the needs and preferences of the learner. It is critical that athletic training education programs prepare graduates to be competent, compassionate, patient-centered, and professional athletic trainers who are ready to function as integral components of health care at multiple levels.

Specifically, we are seeking educational technique manuscripts at all levels (professional, postprofessional and residency). For those at the professional level, techniques addressing the new competencies are encouraged. When developing the manuscript, the discussion should include a summary of how your experiences and outcomes with the technique can benefit continued advancement, including your successes and recommendations for future implementation.

When possible, authors are asked to prepare videos that include the following items:

  • Two to five minutes demonstrating the technique
  • Two-minute testimonials from students who have experienced the educational technique, if applicable and available  

(However, videos are optional.)

Please review the Authors’ Guide for instructions on preparing manuscripts. All submissions will undergo the normal Athletic Training Education Journal peer-review process and, therefore, acceptance is not guaranteed.

To have your manuscript considered for the issue, submit by August 15, 2020.
