Cultural Competence Handout Available

March 1, 2018 by Beth Sitzler

The focus of the March NATA News is “Compassionate Care for All,” the theme of the 2018 National Athletic Training Month, which kicked off March 1. In addition to articles discussing the words we use and why they matter, the issue includes an infographic handout on cultural competence. Based on “Why Patient Values Matter in Clinical Decision Making,” an October 2017 NATA News article by the NATA Cultural Competence Work Group, the handout discusses the role religion, ethnicity, race, gender and socioeconomic status play in health care and health disparities. Members can download the handout for free and reprint it to share with their fellow ATs, coaches, staff, etc.

Don’t forget to check out NATA’s other infographic resources in its Injury Infographic Handout Library.
