2018 Salary Survey Launching Soon

October 8, 2018 by Beth Sitzler

NATA is conducting its biennial Salary Survey this October and needs your help to ensure the athletic training profession is properly represented.

NATA is dedicated to representing, engaging and fostering the continued growth and development of the athletic training profession. To support this mission, NATA is conducting research about the work, compensation and benefits of athletic trainers. The information collected through this effort will provide athletic trainers with valuable information to help advance their careers through the NATA Salary Survey report.

This year, NATA has partnered with McKinley Advisors to conduct the Salary Survey. Members can expect to receive an email from McKinley Advisors with a link to the Salary Survey. The survey will be open for two weeks after its launch, and all respondents will be entered into a drawing to win Starbucks gift cards.

The 2018 Salary Survey features up to 45 questions that examine a variety of topics. New areas of interest this year include per diem work and employee benefits. Respondents have the ability to save and return to the survey, so it doesn’t have to be completed in one sitting.

Before starting the 2018 Salary Survey, be sure to know:

  • Current place of employment and status (such as part time, full time, contract, per diem, etc.)
  • Employee benefits (such as health care, maternity leave, dental, vision, etc.)
  • Salary (such as annual, hourly, etc.)
  • On-the-job challenges (such as work-life balance, increased educational requirements, lack of diversity, etc.)

All respondent information collected by the Salary Survey is strictly confidential.

To ensure the survey gathers a true representation of the entire athletic training profession, it is open to all certified/licensed athletic trainers regardless of NATA membership. NATA is encouraging members to forward the 2018 Salary Survey to all certified/licensed athletic trainers in their network, regardless of their membership status.

After the survey closes and the results are collected, all respondents will receive access to a summary of key findings from the research. As a valuable member benefit, the 2018 Salary Survey results will also be made available online as well as in an upcoming issue of the NATA News.
