Bio: 
David Gallegos is the Deputy CEO of FYZICAL Therapy & Balance Centers in Las Cruces, NM and El Paso, TX and Athletic Trainer for Mesilla Valley Christian School. David earned his Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training Education and Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction from New Mexico State University. David is one of 11 Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy credentialed Athletic Trainers in the world, the only ATC with an American Physical Therapy Association Private Practice Administrator Certification and the only ATC completing the Telemedicine Program Development course sequence through the Southwest Telehealth Resource Center on the University of Arizona medical campus. David has established virtual care programs in the secondary school, outpatient rehabilitation clinic and private practice settings. In the current COVID19 crisis, David leads the TelemedicinePT program offering 100+ virtual care sessions per week.
Abstract: 

While Athletic Trainers are well versed in knowledge associated with in person healthcare and administration of such, I believe based on the recent demand and the increase in consumer mentality, there is an opportunity for additional education about telemedicine and the delivery of virtual care. At its core, telemedicine is a clinical delivery model that spans all domains of athletic training practice.

The webinar will cover:

*Introduction to telemedicine and its application in the US healthcare system
*The three threats to telemedicine
*Identification of industry resources
*Clinical delivery considerations for policy and procedure, equipment and platform selection and clinical care
*Current and future applications and connections to athletic training educational domains
*Economic outlook to telemedicine
*Identification of the greatest limiting factor to the expansion of telemedicine
