NATA Beat: Fall 2025 Advocacy Updates
Every day, NATA and the NATA Government Affairs Department are working on behalf of the athletic training profession. With staff members experienced in all aspects of the legislative process, the NATA Government Affairs Department is the sole department focused on advocacy for the profession. NATA’s goal is to ensure that all ATs can work to the fullest extent of their education and skill set. These bipartisan efforts consist of five key areas: state legislation, federal legislation, regulatory, reimbursement and NATAPAC.
Educators Give Back-to-School Tips
It’s almost time to return to school! The July NATA News explores some of the various aspects of the back-to-school season and shares tips from educators, program directors and the NATA Student Leadership Committee for AT student success. NATA Now is highlighting them in its two-part back-to-school series.
Back-to-school season is almost upon us. For athletes and athletic training students alike, schooling can be a balancing act.
NATAPAC Honors Chuck Kimmel
The annual fundraiser for the NATA Political Action Committee had become a can’t miss event at convention. For the 75th NATA Clinical Symposia & AT Expo, this event featured two firsts: A move from breakfast to lunch and renaming to the Chuck Kimmel Memorial NATAPAC Lunch.
Finding Purpose Through Service
The 75th NATA Clinical Symposia & AT Expo kicked off June 26 with a dynamic keynote address from Justin Wren, a humanitarian and MMA fighter with Bellator MMA.

“Failure is a fuel that helps you understand what not to do,” said NATA Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility Council Chair Trevor Bates, DHSc, AT, during the Athletic Training Student Seminar (ATSS) Otho Davis Keynote Presentation, June 26.
2024 Quiz Bowl Teams
Eleven teams will compete at the 2024 NATA Quiz Bowl, sponsored by Henry Schein at the 75th NATA Clinical Symposia & AT Expo in New Orleans. The quiz bowl features teams from each district in a Jeopardy-style competition. More than bragging rights will be on the line as the top three teams will receive prize packages from Henry Schein. In addition to these awards, each quiz bowl participant (not including alternates) receives complimentary registration to the convention.
Here are the teams competing this year:
