NATA announced today it has been recognized by Association Media and Publishing (AM&P) with a 2017 Silver Excel Award in the Promotional Content: Integrated Mixed Media (Educational) category. The Excel Awards competition is the largest award program that exclusively recognizes excellence and leadership in nonprofit association media, publishing, marketing and communications. This year’s competition received more than 800 entries across many categories, including magazine, journal, newsletter and newspaper.

“We are honored to receive this award and appreciate AM&P for recognizing our public awareness campaign – At Your Own Risk,” said NATA President Scott Sailor EdD, ATC. “This initiative is designed to educate and equip the public to advocate for a safer approach to sports. Athletic trainers cover the full spectrum of care – from prevention to rehabilitation. At Your Own Risk provides comprehensive information and resources to educate parents, administrators and student athletes on how to reduce risk during sports activities.”

“We are excited to honor outstanding work in the association media and publishing industry this year. These awards showcase the organizations that are producing innovative work in a rapidly changing world,” said AM&P Executive Director Meredith Taylor.

Entries for the Promotional Content: Integrated Mixed Media (Educational) category of the competition were judged from submissions of at least three different communication vehicles (e.g., print publication, social media, website, video or podcast) with a common message, mission or theme.

Randy Nanna, EXCEL Award Chair added, “Recognition by one's industry peers is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the talent and ingenuity within the association community.”
