Baseball and softball athletes are repeatedly challenged to meet the demands of sport. As a rehabilitation specialist, one must consider all aspects required to return to the game. Due to the vast array of literature regarding overhead throwing and previous emphasis in clinical care, hitting is often times overlooked. This lecture will give insight into a subspecialty practice and neglected aspect in rehabilitation. Attendees will acquire information on clinical assessment, overview of hitting mechanics, interval progressive hitting programs, and rehabilitation considerations to return to hitting. The information gained through this webinar will advance skill acquisition for providing care for the baseball and softball athlete.
