Ten years ago, Mike Prybicien, LAT, ATC, CES, shared with NATA News and NATA Now readers how his background in athletic training helped his family navigate his son Aiden’s diabetes diagnosis.
During the 76th NATA Clinical Symposia & AT Expo in Orlando, a now 16-year-old Aiden joined his father to help educate other athletic trainers about caring for those with diabetes during the “Managing the Diabetic Physically Active Patient” Learning Lab June 27.

EDAC, ATs Care Host More Call-In Nights
After hosting a successful call-in event in June, the NATA Ethnic Diversity Advisory Committee and ATs Care Commission will team up once again to host call-in nights for NATA members and student members to express their emotional response to recent events throughout August.
The NATA EDAC & ATs Care Call-In Nights: Addressing Racial Tension, COVID-19 and Uncertainty in 2020 will be held at 6 p.m. CDT Aug. 3, Aug. 11, Aug. 19 and Aug. 27 for members and at 7 p.m. CDT Aug. 5 for student members.

Donate a Photo for the NATA Foundation
It could be a picture of your pet, your family, your Instagram-worthy dinner or a selfie. Supporting the NATA Research & Education Foundation is as easy as snapping one of those pictures. Johnson & Johnson’s Donate a Photo campaign teamed up with the NATA Foundation once again to raise money. For every photo uploaded using the Donate a Photo app, J&J will donate $1 to the NATA Foundation, up to $15,000, until Sept. 15.
General Session Recap
Although attendees at the 2020 NATA Virtual Clinical Symposia & AT Expo were watching the General Session from behind a computer screen, NATA President Tory Lindley, MA, ATC, made it clear that this year’s convention will not be less impactful – and emphasized that this year will be the most important year in the association’s history. Lindley delivered an encouraging State of the Association address July 14 during General Session at VNATA 2020.
