Representation of athletic trainers as health care providers in legislation takes a lot of work, and it can’t be done alone. At the state level, updates to practice acts or regulatory laws limiting who ATs can treat can have a big impact on athletic training representation at the federal level, as well. 

NATA is a featured partner in the 2021 Health Professions Week (HPW), Nov. 4-11. As the biggest career event for health professions, HPW brings together various health profession organizations to promote health care careers to high school students, college students, career changers, parents, advisors and counselors. HPW is an eight-day, one-stop shop of events to explore more than 20 career options.

Looking to improve your professional and legislative advocacy tactics? This series is for you. The NATA Government Affairs Committee will present a series of three interactive events where attendees will learn and practice the basics of legislative and professional advocacy. Events will be held at 2 p.m. CDT on the first Wednesday in September, October and November.
