Coordinator of Clinical Education Resources
Athletic training clinical education plays a critical role in a student’s professional preparation. The responsibilities of the coordinator of clinical education (CCE) often include tracking and planning student clinical progression, clinical site evaluations, student evaluation, preceptor training and preceptor evaluation as well as support and mentoring of students. Shannon David, PhD, AT, Ashley Thrasher, EdD, LAT, ATC, CSCS, and Laura E. Kunkel, EdD, LAT, ATC through a qualitative study, found that CCEs felt challenged when navigating institutional policies and less prepared for certain duties in their roles as CCE that included affiliated agreements, conflict management and time management.
