NATA Beat: Fall 2025 Advocacy Updates
Every day, NATA and the NATA Government Affairs Department are working on behalf of the athletic training profession. With staff members experienced in all aspects of the legislative process, the NATA Government Affairs Department is the sole department focused on advocacy for the profession. NATA’s goal is to ensure that all ATs can work to the fullest extent of their education and skill set.
2016 NATA Salary Survey Midway Update
We are in the midst of the 2016 NATA Salary Survey and are excited to share a midway update! We are off to a good start at 9 percent overall participation, but still have a way to go to achieve our 35 percent goal. Approximately 4,440 have completed the survey meaning we need about 12,700 more members to complete the survey to reach our goal.
Shin Splint & Stress Fracture Infographic

New NFL Grant Program Announced
We are excited to announce the official launch of the AT Grant Program, the latest collaboration between NATA and the NFL Foundation! This new pilot program was created to provide funding to public high schools with football programs that have limited or no access to an athletic trainer.
2016 Salary Survey Now Live!
Conducted every 2 years, the NATA Salary Survey is a nation wide effort to equip members with the data they need to negotiate their pay with a current or prospective employer. Upon survey publication in the spring, NATA members will be able to manipulate salary data through various categories including level of education obtained and years of working experience in order to best fit their needs.
AT Halloween Costume Idea
Last year we conducted a contest to promote #BetterTogether, which was the theme of the 67th Clinical Symposia & AT Expo. The winner of the contest ending up being Brock Wright (@brockwright14), a student at Truman State University, with his friend Aaron Patterson.

New International Awards, Grant Program
The NATA International Committee is proud to announce two important initiatives focused on furthering the recognition of athletic training and athletic trainers on a global scale.
Concussion Handout
The November NATA News features an article about concussion research being conducted by Eric Swartz, PhD, ATC, FNATA, chair of the Kinesiology Department at the University of New Hampshire. Swartz received a $500,000 Head Health II grant from the NFL and GE to study whether or not the Helmetless Tackling Training - or HuTT technique - can minimize head trauma in football.
