During the 76th NATA Clinical Symposia & AT Expo June 24-27 in Orlando, convention attendees connected with more than 245 exhibitors in the exhibit hall of the Orange County Convention Center. The AT Expo was an opportunity for ATs to browse from the largest showcase of products and services for the athletic training profession. Students: Are You Ready for the ATSS?
Students who are attending the 69th NATA Clinical Symposia & AT Expo this June in New Orleans will get the chance to learn from industry leaders during the annual Athletic Training Student Seminar. Held annually, ATSS is coordinated by the NATA Student Leadership Committee and is designed to give students a more in depth look at the profession. This year’s ATSS schedule includes:

Get Your CEUs, EBP CEUs at NATA 2018
Certified athletic trainers who participate in all three days of the NATA 69th Clinical Symposia & AT Expo can earn up to 25 CEUs. One-day registrants can earn up to 8 CEUs for a Wednesday or Thursday registration or up to 9 CEUs for a Friday registration. Additional CEUs may be earned by attending Advanced Track Seminars, Minicourses or pre-conference workshops (pricing and CEUs vary).

2018 Quiz Bowl Teams
The 10 teams that will compete at the 2018 NATA Quiz Bowl in New Orleans have been determined. Scheduled for 5:15 p.m. on June 28 at the convention, the Quiz Bowl is now in its tenth year and features teams from each district in a Jeopardy-style competition. More than bragging rights will be on the line as the winning team receives $1,000 toward the school’s athletic training program or club. The second and third place teams will receive $500 and $250 respectively.
Chiefs Host Health and Safety Tour
Earlier this week the NFL, Kansas City Chiefs and NFL Physicians Society held a behind-the-scenes health & safety media tour at Arrowhead Stadium. Speakers included NFL Senior VP of Health and Safety Policy Jeff Miller and Chiefs VP of Sports Medicine and Performance Rick Burkholder. June Public Relations Tip
Most organizations and companies have risk managers and/or compliance officers who are responsible for identifying and reducing risks that are specific to the workplace. You can promote the athletic training profession by organizing a meeting with the risk manager or compliance officer for your workplace to discuss the value you provide in preventing injury and mitigating risk. If available, provide statistics regarding your specific contributions to patient care (number of treatments, types of treatments, appropriate referrals, accuracy of diagnoses, etc.).

In March 2018, the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) released the Standards for Accreditation of Professional Athletic Training Programs at the Masters Level (2020 Standards).
