NATA Beat: Fall 2025 Advocacy Updates
Every day, NATA and the NATA Government Affairs Department are working on behalf of the athletic training profession. With staff members experienced in all aspects of the legislative process, the NATA Government Affairs Department is the sole department focused on advocacy for the profession. NATA’s goal is to ensure that all ATs can work to the fullest extent of their education and skill set.
Go In-Depth With VNATA Chats
The 2020 NATA Virtual Clinical Symposia & AT Expo has no shortage of educational programming for attendees, and the opportunities to connect with other athletic trainers and health care providers are also abundant. In the afternoons July 13-15, attendees can join a VNATA Chats event to talk more in-depth about topics and issues important to the athletic training profession.

AOSSM invites all NATA members to join a special night of elite speakers and presentations from 7 to 9 p.m. EDT July 9 to discuss COVID-19 and return to play. Access to this online event is complimentary for NATA members.
NATA Welcomes New District Directors
The July NATA News introduced the two new board members representing Districts Two and Five. NATA officially welcomed Tanya Dargusch, LAT, ATC, representing District Two; and Rob Marshall, ATC, representing District Five in June.
COPA Resource for Unemployment
COVID-19 hit the economy hard with millions of Americans losing jobs around the nation. In health care alone, there have been 1.4 million job losses since January, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Whether a pay cut, furlough or complete loss of jobs, athletic trainers have felt this impact.

Attention: Get Ready for Voting
Voting for the NATA presidential election is July 1-31. As with previous NATA presidential elections, voting will be conducted electronically. All certified NATA members with a valid email address will be sent an email July 1 with further voting instructions. This email will be sent from NATA Election Coordinator noreply@directvote.net.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about stress and uncertainty in personal and professional lives. Prior to the pandemic, when athletic trainers were stressed and needing someone to talk to, ATs Care was there.
