NATA Beat: Fall 2025 Advocacy Updates

Every day, NATA and the NATA Government Affairs Department are working on behalf of the athletic training profession. With staff members experienced in all aspects of the legislative process, the NATA Government Affairs Department is the sole department focused on advocacy for the profession. NATA’s goal is to ensure that all ATs can work to the fullest extent of their education and skill set. These bipartisan efforts consist of five key areas: state legislation, federal legislation, regulatory, reimbursement and NATAPAC.

Down The Homestretch of NATM 2014

National Athletic Training Month 2014 is coming to a close, but not before we give you one more update on the NATA Social Media Contest. This week, we’re mixing it up a little with a couple of videos and a handful of photos that have caught our attention. You probably saw the video for “What Does The Fox Say?” by Ylvis last year but students at Oregon State University gave it an AT spin with their version, “What Does The AT Say?”. Also exhibiting their creativity were students at Georgia Southern University.

March is National Brain Injury Awareness Month, Too

Coinciding with the March madness of National Athletic Training Month, the 5th Annual Youth Sports Safety Summit and NATA’s annual Capitol Hill Day in Washington, D.C., there is another March designation that deserves your attention: Brain Injury Awareness Month. Spearheaded by the Brain Injury Association of America and its affiliates, the goal is to improve quality and access of care to the 2.4 million Americans who will sustain a brain injury this year. “Brain injuries do not discriminate,” warns the 2014 poster.

National Athletic Training Month Gets Off to Strong Start

It was a great first weekend for National Athletic Training Month. Posts flooded social media using the hashtag #NATM2014. In just the first three days of the month, there were over 3,000 posts. Some of the posts included images, which also qualified them to enter our Social Media Contest. We wanted to recognize some of our favorite images, so each week we will be posting a sampling of them here on the blog. To see even more of the photos we liked, take a look at the NATA Tumblr page.
