When NATA Hall of Famer Lindsy McLean, AT Ret., was asked to be the keynote speaker of this year’s NATA Political Action Committee Breakfast, held June 27, he had to think about it. He made his mind up, however, when his latest NATA membership card came in the mail.

“It said ‘member for 59 years,’ and I said, ‘Man, that’s a long time. I guess I can talk about that,’” he said.

UPDATE (June 26): S.808 passed the committee vote without objection!

The Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) has a hearing scheduled to consider S. 808, the Sports Medicine Licensure Clarity Act, at 1:30 p.m. CT Tuesday, June 26.  This is very important progress for S. 808 and marks the next step toward getting a full Senate vote.

Students who are attending the 69th NATA Clinical Symposia & AT Expo this June in New Orleans will get the chance to learn from industry leaders during the annual Athletic Training Student Seminar. Held annually, ATSS is coordinated by the NATA Student Leadership Committee and is designed to give students a more in depth look at the profession. This year’s ATSS schedule includes:

Certified athletic trainers who participate in all three days of the NATA 69th Clinical Symposia & AT Expo can earn up to 25 CEUs. One-day registrants can earn up to 8 CEUs for a Wednesday or Thursday registration or up to 9 CEUs for a Friday registration. Additional CEUs may be earned by attending Advanced Track Seminars, Minicourses or pre-conference workshops (pricing and CEUs vary).
