Pin Collectors Meet at NATA 2025

An NATA 75th anniversary special event, hosted by the NATA Historical Commission,  brought together pin collecting enthusiasts during the 76th NATA Clinical Symposia & AT Expo June 24-27 in Orlando. 

More than 30 athletic trainers and athletic training students attended the NATA Pin Collectors' Meet and Greet, organized by Historical Commission member Jeff Stone, MEd, LAT, ATC, an NATA Hall of Fame Class of 2012 member, to exchange and trade pins and patches.

USBJI Board Call for Nominations

This is a Call for Nominations for the Officer Position of USBJI Vice President to serve from June 2019 –  June 2021, and seven Members-at-Large, to serve from June 2019 June 2022, on the Board of the U.S. Bone and Joint Initiative (USBJI). These elections will take place during the June 7, 2019 Annual/Board meeting, Baltimore, MD.

NATM: Advocacy Through Collaboration

With a career spanning 22 years, Shelly Jones, ATC, has been able to identify gaps in care and resources within athletic training. Through collaboration and desire for change, Jones has helped usher in major shifts in Oregon’s standards of care in secondary schools and clinical athletic training while uplifting the next generation of athletic trainers through her work with NATA Secondary School Athletic Trainers’ Committee (SSATC).

The Art of Athletic Training

In celebration of National Athletic Training Month (NATM), the North Carolina Athletic Trainers’ Association (NCATA) curated a public art exhibition of original photographs and illustrations showcasing patient care and AT equipment.

Since the end of February, the photos of a ballerina posing with an automated external defibrillators and illustrations of patient and AT interactions have been at ClearWater Artist Studios in Concord, North Carolina, in a gallery that is open to the public.

From the SLC: Student Shares Intern Experience

My experience at Northwestern will never be forgotten. After seeing a Northwestern Sports Medicine Instagram post about welcoming athletic training interns, I inquired about the opportunity with one of the associate athletic trainers. A few emails and a video interview later, I was offered an internship position. A week after finals I began the three-day trek from Beverly, Massachusetts, to Evanston, Illinois.

It's important to investigate potential programs and weigh how each does or doesn't meet your personal needs. While cost is an important factor, it’s not the only one. Class size, curriculum design, faculty involvement, campus life and program outcomes are just a few other considerations to keep in mind when making your decision.
