Insight Into NATA’s Presidential Election Update
This August, the NATA Board of Directors approved a series of bylaw updates. This included an update to who is eligible to run for president of the association. The new bylaw states:

Register for the Next NATA Timely Topics
The January NATA Timely Topics Series, moderator Donita Valentine, DAT, ATC, SFMA, will center on self-care and work-life balance strategies for the AT.
The NATA Timely Topics Series provides members with an engaging, high-level introductory conversation about a hot topic in athletic training. Each event will give attendees the chance to connect in real-time to thought leaders who have anecdotal success within these areas of interest as well as access to a library of related resources.
Some Front Line ATs Now Equipped To Vaccinate
As unpredictable as the last nine months of the COVID-19 pandemic have been for everyone, athletic trainers are uniquely trained to handle the unexpected. Some outreach athletic trainers deployed to the front lines in non-traditional roles, such as coronavirus screeners, became some of the first recommended groups to train and administer the COVID-19 vaccine, and to receive it.

Health Care in Action Recap
The December NATA News takes a look back at the year, and a big part of that was the yearlong Health Care in Action campaign. The goal of the Health Care in Action campaign was to not only celebrate everything athletic trainers do for the betterment of their patients and, overall, the communities in which they serve, but to help athletic trainers communicate these endeavors to others.

NATA Named NYSS Champion by President’s Council
This year, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced NATA as a National Youth Sports Strategy (NYSS) Champion. NATA’s recognition was first highlighted in the December NATA News, which also serves as the association’s annual report.
