For Pascual Guerrero, DPT, ATC, CSCS, Philadelphia is more than the city where he works. Over the past decade, it has become a place he has come to appreciate through its neighborhoods, passionate sports culture, memorable food scene and unmistakable pride.

Midge Peterson, MS, LAT, ATC, didn’t know what she wanted to do with her life when she graduated high school. She attended college for a bit but ended up working her way through the ranks in a restaurant.
“I realized that’s not what I wanted to do with my life,” she said.

This year, the National Athletic Training Month theme, “From Head to Toe,” highlights the whole-body, whole-person care ATs provide their patients. Throughout March, NATA Now is highlighting members from across the settings. These eight ATs, also featured in the March NATA News, are examples of how ATs are advancing the profession through their direct and indirect efforts.
In honor of Women’s History Month this March, NATA is highlighting women in the profession who are working to advance athletic training through recruitment, retention and leadership.
Throughout the history of athletic training, the college/university, higher education, professional sports, secondary school and various emerging settings have become home to athletic trainers wanting to care for all active populations. The impact of these ATs has helped their patients remain active and healthy in work, life and sport.
