Pin Collectors Meet at NATA 2025
An NATA 75th anniversary special event, hosted by the NATA Historical Commission, brought together pin collecting enthusiasts during the 76th NATA Clinical Symposia & AT Expo June 24-27 in Orlando.
More than 30 athletic trainers and athletic training students attended the NATA Pin Collectors' Meet and Greet, organized by Historical Commission member Jeff Stone, MEd, LAT, ATC, an NATA Hall of Fame Class of 2012 member, to exchange and trade pins and patches.
NATA Takes Part in Health Professions Week
NATA will lend its voice to the 2019 Health Professions Week (HPW), Nov. 16-21. As the biggest career event for health professions, HPW brings together various health profession organizations to promote health care careers to high school students, college students, career changers, parents, advisors and counselors. HPW is a six-day, one-stop shop of events to explore more than 20 career options.
ICSM Guidance on Interassociation Recommendations
On Sept. 23, the NATA Board of Directors approved the NATA Intercollegiate Council for Sports Medicine (ICSM) document to support adoption and compliance to new Recommendations released by NCAA.

Meet the Student Leadership Committee
Hello! My name is Madelyne “Midge” Peterson, and I’m currently serving as the chair of the Student Leadership Committee (SLC). I am a student in the second year of my master’s degree in athletic training at the University of Montana. This is my third year serving on the committee. Last year I represented District Ten as chair-elect, and the year before I shadowed the District Ten representative.

Technical Change to the Bylaws
The National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) Board of Directors approved a technical change to its bylaws, specifically section 7.2 (a), during its conference call meeting on Monday, August 27, 2019.
Football Handout Available
With football season underway, now is a great time to educated parents, student athletes and administrators on the important role athletic trainers play in the sport. To help with this, NATA and At Your Own Risk have created a “What to Know About Football” infographic handout.
Performing Arts Workshop Recap
The Performing Arts Workshop took place June 25 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas prior to the 70th NATA Clinical Symposia & AT Expo. More than 40 athletic trainers attended the workshop, participating in dialogue and offering feedback along the way.
One of the speakers was Jackie Haas, MS, AT, supervisor of performing arts medicine for Mercy Health/ Cincinnati Ballet. She presented on the preretirement performer and how ATs can assist with the transition.
Globally ‘ElevATing’ the Profession

Globally elevating the athletic training profession is done through grassroots efforts and, in part, by the efforts of the athletic trainers who work abroad. To complete this work, these ATs have to main their certification. It is a difficult endeavor for ATs abroad to earn continuing education units (CEUs).
