The Gustavus Sports Medicine department is excited to offer clinical immersion opportunities for athletic training students who are currently enrolled in a Master's of Athletic Training Program. Our Sports Medicine Team consists of 6 amazing athletic trainers that services 23 varsity sports, and 13 Club Sports throughout the academic year. The health and welfare of our Gustie student-athletes is paramount to our Sports Medicine Team. We strive to develop a program that maximizes the talent of a diverse staff to meet the needs of all our student-athletes both on and off the field. Our staff supports athletic training students in advancing their knowledge of clinical skill sets and professional development, while providing a great amount of autonomy under the appropriate recommendations of CAATE. We take pride in providing an experience that assists with the development of confidence, while preparing students for their future as an athletic trainer. We offer traditional semester long rotations, sport specific rotations (not dependent on semester start and end dates), and are willing to work with individuals for shorter clinical rotations.
