Exploring the AT Expo

During the 76th NATA Clinical Symposia & AT Expo June 24-27 in Orlando, convention attendees connected with more than 245 exhibitors in the exhibit hall of the Orange County Convention Center. The AT Expo was an opportunity for ATs to browse from the largest showcase of products and services for the athletic training profession. Supporting Transgender Youth Amid Legislative Changes

Several states have initiated and/or passed legislation that affects health care for transgender youth in sport. Given that transgender individuals suffer behavioral health issues at a higher rate than their cisgender peers, it is imperative that athletic trainers (ATs) are cognizant of how these laws affect the well-being of their transgender patient population.1-3

Award Recipients Recognized at VATEC 2021

Each year, the NATA Executive Council for Education recognizes members who exemplify excellence in the field of athletic training education through the Sayers “Bud” Miller Distinguished Educator Award. Named in honor of the first chair of the NATA Professional Education Committee, the award recognizes those who have excelled in promoting athletic training education beyond the local level through service and publishing on athletic training issues.

Interprofessional Education: Building a Skill

In 2019, the NATA Education Advancement Committee, under the NATA Executive Council for Education, created the Continuing Professional Development in Educational Scholarship Grant to help a researcher gain a new skill or collaborate with a partner in order to move their research agenda forward. The goal of the grant is to expand the number of individuals performing the educational research needed to move the profession forward.
