Pin Collectors Meet at NATA 2025

An NATA 75th anniversary special event, hosted by the NATA Historical Commission,  brought together pin collecting enthusiasts during the 76th NATA Clinical Symposia & AT Expo June 24-27 in Orlando. 

More than 30 athletic trainers and athletic training students attended the NATA Pin Collectors' Meet and Greet, organized by Historical Commission member Jeff Stone, MEd, LAT, ATC, an NATA Hall of Fame Class of 2012 member, to exchange and trade pins and patches.

AT Spotlight: Mike Prybicien

When Mike Prybicien’s son, Aiden, was diagnosed as diabetic at the age of 4, Prybicien relied on his background as an athletic trainer to help his family – including wife, Jennifer, and daughter, Abigail – navigate through their new circumstances.

Worth Trying: Zotero

AT Spotlight: Yuri Hosokawa

A childhood fascination with science and medicine and how they apply to sports has led Yuri Hosokawa, MAT, ATC, to a career in athletic training, taking her from Japan to the United States.
The director of communication and education with the Korey Stringer Institute, Hosokawa is currently working on her PhD at the University of Connecticut. She shared in the November NATA News her research interests as well as her plans for the future. Here are some additional questions from our interview with Yuri.

Low Back Surgery Requires Serious Consideration

Tiger Woods had his first low back operation in March of last year yet still managed to play in seven PGA tournaments in 2014. This year was better only in the sense that he played in 12 tournaments. However, he never finished higher than 10th, missed the cut four times, and withdrew — after only 12 holes — from another.
