Pin Collectors Meet at NATA 2025

An NATA 75th anniversary special event, hosted by the NATA Historical Commission,  brought together pin collecting enthusiasts during the 76th NATA Clinical Symposia & AT Expo June 24-27 in Orlando. 

More than 30 athletic trainers and athletic training students attended the NATA Pin Collectors' Meet and Greet, organized by Historical Commission member Jeff Stone, MEd, LAT, ATC, an NATA Hall of Fame Class of 2012 member, to exchange and trade pins and patches.

Journal Seeks New Editor in Chief

Call for Applications

Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Athletic Training

The Journal of Athletic Training (JAT) Editor-in-Chief (EIC) position becomes available in June 2018. The term of appointment is two years and can be renewed twice, with agreement between the EIC and NATA, for a total of six years of service. The term begins in June 2018. However, the candidate must be able to begin work with the current JAT EIC and Journal Committee (JC) starting in June 2017.

ATs Care Program Launching Soon

Slated to officially launch in the spring of this year, the much anticipated ATs Care program is taking off! 

The ATs Care Program is designed to aid athletic trainers and/or athletic training students in the aftermath of a critical incident; such as a death occurring to an athlete or colleague, or other disturbing situation that affects the AT. ATs Care encourages ATs to seek initial peer-support through state or regional AT CISM teams when available.

NATA, NCAA Host Summit in Dallas

The National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) hosted an interassociation summit Jan. 25-26 to enhance the organization and administration of health care services for intercollegiate student-athletes.

Experts in sports medicine, athletics administration and risk management convened in Dallas to discuss and identify best practices in infrastructure, administrative services and the provision of sports medicine services at the collegiate level.

Disablement Model Work Group Call

The NATA Board of Directors and the members of the AT Strategic Alliance approved the adoption or endorsement of the World Health Organization’s International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) with the Children and Youth (ICF-CY) updates. Each entity of the alliance is responsible for implementation of the language into the documents and processes they control.
