Pin Collectors Meet at NATA 2025
An NATA 75th anniversary special event, hosted by the NATA Historical Commission, brought together pin collecting enthusiasts during the 76th NATA Clinical Symposia & AT Expo June 24-27 in Orlando.
More than 30 athletic trainers and athletic training students attended the NATA Pin Collectors' Meet and Greet, organized by Historical Commission member Jeff Stone, MEd, LAT, ATC, an NATA Hall of Fame Class of 2012 member, to exchange and trade pins and patches.
NATM Challenge Project From Marsha Grant-Ford and Demetrious Johnson Charitable Foundation
Marsha Grant-Ford has partnered with the Demetrious Johnson Charitable Foundation to create a challenge project for undergraduate students to celebrate National Athletic Training Month. The DJCF Reading Challenge Contest is for Athletic Training Student Clubs associated with CAATE approved athletic training education programs. The challenge will take place from March 15 to April 4.
Video Highlights From NATM 2015
We have already seen some great photos posted over the past two weeks using the #NATM2015 hashtag. These all qualify for inclusion in our Social Media Contest, but they are not the only way to do so. Videos promoting National Athletic Training Month have been showing up as well and they will be counted too. 2015 Youth Sports Safety Summit
In a continued effort to keep young athletes safe, NATA and the Youth Sports Safety Alliance hosted the sixth annual Youth Sports Safety Summit in Dallas, Texas on March 2. This year’s forum built on the success of prior summits and addressed the day-long theme of Navigating the Athletic Health Care System, focusing on athletic play in community/league sports as well as school-based athletics.

Inaugural Youth Sports Safety Ambassador Awards
The first-ever Youth Sports Safety Ambassador Awards were presented during today's Youth Sports Safety Summit in Dallas. The Youth Sports Safety Ambassador award recognizes an individual or entity that has made a significant contribution to advancing athlete safety based on one of two criteria:
- By providing exemplary youth sports safety protocols and care that sets a precedent and/or model that others can follow.

Capitol Hill Day 2015
Athletic trainers representing 24 states joined us in Washington, DC, today for our biggest advocacy event of the year, Capitol Hill Day. Attendees conducted 192 meetings with legislators in support of the three pieces of legislation introduced last week:
- H.R. 829 / S. 436: SAFE PLAY (Supporting Athletes, Families and Educators to Protect the Lives of Athletic Youth) Act
- H.R. 921: Sports Medicine Licensure Clarity Act
- H.Res. 112 / S. Res. 83: Secondary School Student Athletes’ Bill of Rights
2015 WFATT World Congress Releases Preliminary Program
The preliminary program for the 2015 World Congress of the World Federation of Athletic Training and Therapy (WFATT) has recently been announced. Saint Louis University will host the WFATT World Congress as experts from all over the world converge to discuss this year's theme: Overuse Injury in Sport: An Interprofessional Approach.
