Voting is Now Open
Following the conclusion of Face Time ’26, during which NATA presidential candidates David Gallegos, MA, ATC, Cert. MDT, and Rob Marshall, LAT, ATC, delivered their final addresses to attendees of the 77th NATA Clinical Symposia & AT Expo, all eligible members received an email July 1 containing their ballot and unique, non-transferable voting link.
Voting for NATA’s next president is open until 11:59 p.m. CDT July 30 through the NATA Qualtrics platform. NATA’s independent audit firm will oversee voting and monitor the system to ensure the integrity of the election process. By using NATA’s platform with third-party oversight, NATA not only retains ownership of results collected, but is ensuring the election remains fair and equitable.
“One of the greatest benefits of membership is the ability to help choose the leaders who will guide our association,” NATA President A.J. Duffy III, MS, ATC, PT, said. “Voting is more than a member benefit: It is a responsibility. The decisions made by future leaders will influence advocacy priorities, professional resources, workforce initiatives and the direction of NATA for years to come. You have a voice in where we are headed. This is the moment to use it."
This election marks a particular milestone. Because of bylaw updates that went into effect in August 2025, licensed-only and licensed-only-retired members are now classified in the Professional Membership Category, resulting in more members than ever being able to vote for NATA president.
"NATA exists to serve its members, and the strength of our association depends on members actively participating in its governance,” NATA Executive Director Mollie Pillman, MS, MBA, CAE, said. “Every election helps shape our strategic direction, from how we invest resources to how we support athletic trainers across all practice settings. Taking just a moment to vote is one of the most direct ways you can influence the future of NATA and the profession."
Throughout this year’s election, NATA and the NATA Presidential Election Oversight Task Force have provided insight into each step leading up to voting. From outlining the nomination process to providing various opportunities to get to know the candidates, keeping members informed has taken center stage.
“A healthy association is built on engaged members and trust with the entire election process,” NATA Presidential Election Oversight Task Force Chair Tim Weston, MEd, ATC, said. “Active participation in the election process helps ensure that the next NATA president is chosen by a broad and representative cross-section of our membership. Strong membership participation strengthens the legitimacy of the outcome and demonstrates our collective commitment to the future of NATA."
