We are saddened to share the passing of National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) charter member and NATA Hall of Fame Class of 1976 member Eddie Lane.
A pioneer of the profession, Eddie shaped athletic training through more than seven decades of service, leadership and mentorship.
NATA President A.J. Duffy III, MS, ATC, PT, said, “I feel very fortunate to have met Eddie Lane last year at SWATA. He was a pillar of our association from the very beginning. As a charter member, his vision, service and unwavering belief in athletic training helped define the profession we know today.”
Eddie’s contributions included early leadership within SWATA, service as District 6 director, trailblazing work in professional tennis, and a lifelong commitment to supporting students and advancing opportunity across the profession.
