The Continuing Education Committee is pursuing new ways to deliver continuing education. Internet users are have become quite knowledgeable and comfortable with this technology and as a result, the expectations of online education have risen. These rising expectations have driven the Internet from a place where documents are on display to a media rich interactive learning environment. The concept is to select a combination of the most pedagogically appropriate media (text, graphics, audio, animations, etc.) to provide the most effective and efficient tool that will allow the learner to acquire information, competencies, and skills that they can apply, not just read about it.

The challenge in implementing this concept for continuing education requires re-evaluating continuing education course objectives, the authoring and development processes, the desired outcomes, assessment of the learner, and how continuing education courses are evaluated.
The Continuing Education Committee is striving to meet this challenge through this Virtual Library of Educational Resources.
