Abstract:
Professional Yoga Therapy leads the way in medical yoga today by providing post-graduate application of medical therapeutic yoga through an evidence based lens. Our programs cover every system in the human body and treat the whole person by providing a standardized methodology for evaluation, prevention, and management of pathophysiology through education in evidence based CAM modalities, specifically medical therapeutic yoga.
Module 5 provides immediate clinical application in respiratory medical therapeutic yoga methods through teaching breathing techniques applicable for all patient populations. Integration of the evidence base in the physiology of respiration and pathophysiological states of breathing, as well as integration of the PYT conceptual model, will allow the clinician to implement immediate care and rehabilitation methods for stress management, improved athletic performance, pulmonary function, and overall improved quality of life and patient outcomes.
