Abstract

The practitioner serving as a clinical instructor is an essential component of athletic training education and the profession. As healthcare evolves to incorporate evidence based research into clinical decision making, the athletic training faculty and the practitioner must develop a synergy for the athletic training student to transition from knowledge to application. This presentation discusses the changing landscape in athletic training education and the value of the practitioner serving as the clinical instructor. Tools and techniques for creating a synergistic relationship are discussed, including the value of using transformational leadership.
