Emerging Settings Clinical Rotations Opportunities

The Clinical and Emerging Practices Athletic Trainers’ Committee has developed a searchable database for student clinical rotations (internships) within emerging settings. The goal of this database is to allow students and members to search the database (by setting, state, district, etc.), providing them with points of contact, contact information and requirements for clinical rotations around the United States that meets their needs and interests.

Real Salt Lake youth camps.

Hello, my name is Kyle Jorgensen and i am a student athletic trainer for the University of Utah. I work with Real Salt Lakes youth camps and we need some volunteer athletic trainers to work the practices. You do not need to be a certified AT but you need to be up to date on your First Aid certification. The camps are every week starting june 4th and go from 8-3, during the weekdays. ATCs and DPTs

There is much overlap between ATCs and DPTs as far as treating athletes/patients is concerned. The biggest difference is, obviously, the setting. One being a training room and the other being a clinic (outpatients PTs for the purpose of this article). Yes, there are differences in education, areas of expertise, patient population, etc. However, outpatient-ortho PTs and ATCs really quite similar in the eyes of this author. The point I am alluding to is this: how is there not more cross-over between the two professions?
