(Dallas, TX, December 22, 2003) The National Athletic Trainers’ Association, the membership organization for certified athletic trainers (ATCs) in the US will send out a needs assessment questionnaire/survey to ATCs living and working outside the United States and Canada. NATA will target international members and those who are associated with the Department of Defense on both an enlisted and civilian basis, specifically those who are outside the continental U.S. The NATA International Committee continues to address the major concerns of ATCs overseas. The most urgent concern appears to be the ability of ATCs to accumulate the mandated continuing education units necessary to maintain professional certification. Please watch your e-mail and snail mail for this NATA survey. Send us your comments, current physical location and professional concerns as listed on the survey. This is your chance to express your needs and issues to NATA. Don't miss this opportunity to contribute to your professional membership. Certified athletic trainers are unique health care providers who specialize in the prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses that occur to athletes and the physically active. The National Athletic Trainers' Association represents and supports the more than 30,000 members of the athletic training profession through education and research.
