NATA Hall of Fame Inductee for 2004

 

Kathleen A. Schniedwind

 

Kathleen received her BS from West Chester University in 1974 and her MS from Indiana University in 1976. Her entire career has been at Illinois State University where she has been since 1976. She was the first female athletic trainer at Illinois State University. She was the first female board member and served as Treasurer and Vice President of the Illinois Athletic Trainers' Association and was inducted into that organizations' Hall of Fame in 1998. Kathy served on the NATA Research and Foundation Board of Directors, the NATA Research and Education Scholarship Committee, and chaired the NATA College/University Athletic Training Student Committee. Kathleen has received the NATA Most Distinguished award in 1998, selected as a Hall of Fame member in 1996 by the Illinois Athletic Trainers' Association, Volunteer of the Year for the Illinois Special Olympics in 1992, and a member of the USA Medical Staff for the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, Korea. Kathleen currently serves as the Head Athletic Trainer at Illinois State University and is in her 28th year.
