NATA Hall of Fame Inductee for 2004

 

Charles J. Redmond

 

Charles J. Redmond is Chair of the Department of Exercise and Sport Studies and Athletic Training Education Program Director at Springfield College. A thirty-five year athletic trainer and faculty member at Springfield College, he has Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Health and Physical Education from Springfield College and a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from Boston University. He has been a preseason assistant athletic trainer for the New England Patriots and was the head athletic trainer for the Saudi Arabian Olympic Development teams at the 1976 Olympics. He has lectured in Aruba, Ireland, Hong Kong and China. He was on the Editorial Advisory Committee and a theme editor for Athletic Therapy Today from 1995-2000 and is a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Athletic Training and the Journal of Physical Therapy. He served two terms on the NATA Board of Directors and EATA Executive Committee. He is a member of the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Allied Health Professions, Coordinator of Sports Medicine for the Massachusetts Senior Games and was a consultant to Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Sport Medical Committee. He has been a member of the NATA Education Council Clinical Education Committee and is an Approved Clinical Instructor Workshop Facilitator. He received the NATA Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award in 1994 and the Cramer EATA Athletic Trainer of the Year Award in 1993.
