| The Education Council serves as the NATA’s voice in matters related to athletic training education. The council is specifically responsible for facilitating continuous quality improvement in entry-level, graduate and continuing athletic training education. It coordinates the delivery of educational programming for the profession of athletic training. The council accomplishes its purposes both by developing innovative educational programs and by encouraging and facilitating a close working relationship between all the entities involved in athletic training education.
The Education Council functions as a clearinghouse for educational policy, development, and delivery for entry-level, graduate, specialty, and continuing education. It consists of five standing committees and liaisons the Board of Certification, Inc. (BOC), the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE), and the NATA Research and Education Foundation (REF). The responsibilities of the BOC, CAATE and the NATA can be seen by clicking here. The Education Council was formed in 1996 in response to recommendations from the NATA Task Force on Educational Reform. |
