District and State Funding Available For Safe Sports School Award

The Safe Sports School award is an NATA initiative to promote youth athlete safety, injury prevention, as well as athlete and parent education among secondary schools. District and state associations are showing their support by offering assistance to minimize the cost of applying for the award.

DISTRICT
District Four - Great Lakes Athletic Trainers’ Association
$150 towards application fee for 60 secondary schools - Application deadline, Nov. 1st

Colorado Athletic Trainers’ Association
$100 towards application fee for Colorado secondary schools

Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers’ Society
$150 towards application fee for 30 Pennsylvania secondary schools

$75 towards application fee for 13 Utah secondary schools

Completed Grant Programs
District Three – Mid Atlantic Athletic Trainers’ Association
MAATA’s grant program ended in February 2015 and was very successful. 40 secondary schools were awarded $75 each towards their Safe Sports School application. Congratulations to all grant recipients!
 
District Five – Mid-America Athletic Trainers’ Association
D5 granted 16 secondary schools with $75 towards the Safe Sports School application. The program closed in May 2015. Thank you to all who applied and hats off to you for making athlete safety a priority!
