A message from NCAA about energy patches and other 'training aids'
The National Collegiate Athletic Association has determined that so-called “training aids” that are worn on or attached to the body (i.e. bracelets, discs, adhesive patches, etc.) are considered extra benefits. NCAA institutions may not provide them free of charge to student-athletes as such items are not necessary for intercollegiate participation. Student-athletes wishing to use any of these products may purchase them on their own, but should consult the athletics staff to determine if the use of the product could cause any concerns for athletic participation.
