NATA Presidents

Dennis Miller
1992 - 1996
When Dennis Miller joined the athletic training staff of Purdue University in 1973, he had already been in the profession for more than five years. Working as an assistant for Pinky Newell, however, gave Miller a new perspective on the role and responsibility of each member of a professional organization. Miller took Newell's advise to heart, becoming a leader in his own right. Having served his state and district organizations, Miller got involved in national athletic training issues and eventually completed two terms as NATA President before heading up initiatives that could alter sports medicine in the collegiate setting. Since 1977, Miller has been the head athletic trainer/physical therapist for Purdue University where he continues to be a role model for athletes and athletic training students. Denny was inducted into the NATA Hall of Fame in 2001.
