Special Projects Associate

We are seeking a tech-savvy individual with strong writing skills and one to three years of relevant experience for our full-time special projects associate position. As part of the executive department, this person coordinates special projects and works closely with our CEO and board of directors.

In addition to being a very capable writer who likes to write, the successful candidate will be both detail and big picture oriented, organized, a good verbal communicator, analytical thinker, and team player who plans ahead and takes initiative. Preferred degrees are English, Journalism, or Communications, although a candidate may demonstrate competence through writing samples. Must be proficient with Microsoft office applications.

Experienced with webinar facilitation, online survey software and association or non-profit environment is preferred.

Specific job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Write and edit speeches and PowerPoint presentations, reports, correspondence, board support material and other documents for executive director and association leadership.
  • Take board minutes.
  • Handle work assignments for cooperative efforts between NATA and liaison organizations and other outside groups. (Examples are spearing and concussion videos and helmet removal education endeavors with the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians.)
  • Conceptualize, plan, script, coordinate logistics and manage onsite production of General Session(s), Face Time and other assigned events at annual meeting.
  • Serves as staff liaison to inter-association task forces and project teams. Coordinate meeting invitations, agenda, support materials, minutes and other duties.
  • Orchestrate attorney review and selection process.
  • Conduct a program review every three years to determine ROI and value of current programs.
  • Coordinate executive department budget.
  • When needed, assist executive director with keyboarding documents and emails as they are dictated and occasionally help with other executive assistant duties during absences.
  • Handle governance matters including updating the bylaws and Policies & Procedures Manual annually and administering the presidential election.
